About Me

All About Me

Hi there,

I’m Marie. I’m a Personal Stylist. I love all things fashion and nothing gives me greater satisfaction than seeing the transformation of normal, everyday women, once they’ve had a session with me.

I am a mum of 5 with 4 gran-babies, and like many other women have struggled myself with my body, especially after having my children and having to adapt to a different body shape. During my younger years I did a lot of modelling and more recently I have modelled for Fashion guru Trinny Woodall’s makeup brand – TrinnyLondon.

As a women I know that it can be so difficult to really reconnect with yourself, especially after having children.  So much of our time as a mother is dedicated to raising our little ones,  often in the balance, we loose who we once were, simply  surviving in the shadows.  Often left little to no time to be able to really focus on ourselves.

I am a firm believer however, that it is definitely possible to do both! and I have always pushed against that tide.   As a mature lady I still have young children and continue to look after myself implementing good self-care routines that I follow daily.  I believe that in order to show up as your “Best Self” everyday it is so important that you love yourself from the inside out.

As a qualified Personal Stylist and Self- Esteem coach, I empower women to rediscover who they are and help them to fall back in love with themselves.  You may not have heard it in a while, but you are BEAUTIFUL!  Not only do you deserve to look good, but you deserve to feel amazing too!  My Stylist sessions are embedded with Self-Esteem coaching techniques which really get my clients to reframe any negative beliefs they may hold when it comes to themselves and really owning who they are.  I encourage my clients to begin to develop a higher level of confidence and self-esteem, when it comes to  living their lives as the best version of themselves. I believe that feeling fabulous on the inside, is equally as important to looking fabulous on the outside!  The right mindset is the force which drives you to arrive at a place where you can begin to fully accept, embrace and fall back in love with everything that is you. You can rest assured that M’Powered Style will support you every step of the way to do just that!

Finally,  as well as a Personal Stylist,  I am a jewellery designer and I also run a small lip colour business.

All in all, I guess that kinda sums me up!

I know it may seem a lot, but I consider myself to be a creative person, and I guess more often than not, when you are a creative person you can turn your hand to more than one thing.  In the past I used to play it down, because I’d hate being asked if there’s anything I can’t do?  but now I very much play it up and love that I can bring all my tools to the table in order to help others.

My Story

Growing Up

Ever since I can remember, fashion has always been a thing for me. I was a baby of the 70’s and was raised by my mother in a single parent family.  My Mother was a seamstress.

I was often the envy of  my friends as I had so many pretty dresses with matching ribbons, socks and bows, because she literally made everything!

Saturday mornings were all about spending what seemed like hours, at the fabric stall in our local market.  My mum was always guaranteed to bag a bargain!

I watch her create the most amazing items of clothing for literally next to nothing.  Cottons, to gaberdines, polyesters, to jersey, taffeta to wool.  You name it, she had it! and she would conjure up the most amazing creations from them.

When I look back at my past, I realise that it’s no surprise that the ability to style comes naturally to me. My initial training ground definitely began with my mother.  Being the youngest of 7, I’ve always shared fashion and beauty tips and  tricks with my older sisters.  They would often as my opinion when it came to fashion and style.

My Late Mother

After loosing my  mother a couple of years ago, I became reacquainted with a skill I’d had for years.  I’ve always been a very creative person, and I guess you might say my jewellery designing is an extension of that.  Jewellery making became my escape from the deep grief that I carried as a result of loosing my mother,  and I soon found that I was creating some amazing pieces through my pain.  Women regularly tell me how fabulous they feel in my pieces when they’re wearing them and this makes me feel so good!

It’s amazing to see first hand, how confidence levels can rise.  Jewellery can be so simple, yet so powerful!

I now have my jewellery stocked in a couple of stores and sell on instagram @fanglesdangles and Facebook.  I find that women who purchase my creations are so happy to meet the person behind the designs because of my story.

I am very passionate about empowering women, and this is why I do what I do! Seeing my mother create clothes for other women and seeing how she was able to transform their lives was a really beautiful thing to witness.  Like my mother, I too love helping women become the best version of themselves, and seeing woman fall back in love with their bodies, just as they are is truly magical!

I believe that it’s possible for all woman to really embrace what they have and feel truly Fabulous in the skin they’re in!

Many of my friends and family have said, the fact that I am now a Stylist, is really no surprise to them because I’m simply doing what I’ve always done! 🙂
